Perché i corsi di perfezionamento Surgery First

Con la procedura Surgery First la programmazione terapeutica è di gran lunga più complessa e necessita di molto tempo.

• C’è la necessità di utilizzare software 3D per la valutazione diagnostica e la programmazione terapeutica.
• Spesso è indispensabile l’uso di splint intermedi e finali.
• E’ necessario utilizzare criteri di selezione dei pazienti ( alcuni casi non possono essere trattati con questa metodica).
• E’ più complesso l’intervento chirurgico per il ricorso frequente alle osteotomie segmentarie, associate a quelle basali.
• E’ indispensabile che gli ortodontisti ed i chirurghi che utilizzano questo approccio terapeutico siano di grande esperienza in modo da evitare i rischi a cui può andare incontro il paziente, relativi alla complessità della pianificazione terapeutica e alla maggiore difficoltà dell’intervento chirurgico.
• Si determina un contrasto tra il tempo considerevole necessario per l’approccio diagnostico e la programmazione terapeutica, con la durata minima del trattamento a cui dovrà sottoporsi il paziente ( solitamente 6 mesi).

I corsi di formazione servono a rendere semplice una programmazione terapeutica che sembra molto complessa

Il trattamento ortodontico ( solo post operatorio ) sarà infinitamente più semplice perché non più formulato sulla previsione dell’intervento chirurgico ma su un paziente i cui mascellari si trovano già nel giusto rapporto tridimensionale.

Perché tutto ciò si verifichi è necessaria una programmazione accurata che ortodontista e chirurgo devono fare insieme.

Il corso formativo è utile per creare un linguaggio comune tra chirurgo ed ortodontista che saranno legati da un rapporto di “affidabilità” reciproca.

Introduction

The course is designed for maxillo-facial or plastic surgeons and orthodontists interested in gaining or refining their skills in diagnosis and treatment of patients affected by dentoskeletal malformation with the surgery first approach.
